Social Services for Epileptics
A number of aid services are available to help cope with the impact of epileptic illness. How and to what extent a patient can qualify depends on various factors for each patient. The clinic’s Social Services Department provides information pamphlets on aid opportunities for the families of epileptic children to help inform and counsel them better:
Nursing Care Insurance
The pamphlet „Which nursing care services do I qualify for?“ provides an overview of the most important nursing care services and who qualifies for them. The changes, which were part of the Nursing Care Advancement Law of July 1, 2008, are also included.
Disability ID Card
The pamphlet „How do I get a disability ID card?” gives an overview of who qualifies for a disability ID card, what the different stamps mean and what is required to get them.
Self-help – Taking charge of one’s destiny
Self-help groups and organizations, in which people with health-related or social problems come together, are becoming more and more important. Because they so effectively complement the health services of physicians, outreach centers and other facilities in so many ways, today’s health and welfare system wouldn’t be imaginable without them. Being able to share experiences and information with others (and their families) who, for example, suffer from the same chronic illness, or being able to help each other in any way, represents a whole new way to get and receive help and understanding.
